The OSA organized an Incubator meeting on Levitated Optomechanics in Washington… which is just about the most topical meeting for myself I can imagine! I was invited, and gave a talk called “Size Matters”, exploring the role of particle size in levitated experiments. I also wrote a blog about it.
The Quantum Workshop is James’ public engagement project.
My Tweets- With social distancing, it isn't often that that I get to be in the lab. Today, however, I got to do some *experiments*!Super happy to have had a #dumplingparty with my fantastic research team for #chinesenewyear. An evening of 100 dumplings!Ok, maybe a little late, but these were my favourite books of 2020. As soon as I heard that grumpy old Doris Lessing had written Sci Fi I *had* to check it out, I love everything Han Kang has done, Uzumaki is one of the few books I would actually describe as scary, and OOO has genuinely inspired me in my work!Ah, back when we were free-ish enough to get drunk and buy Tapas.
