I was very pleased to visit the Benson group at Humboldt University in Berlin. Just a short sleeper-train from Vienna! I am very interested in their work with nanoparticles in ion traps, and had the opportunity to talk to them about my work.

- Hackathon today! We're doing a Hardware Hackathon (Red Pitaya FPGA) to try and cool levitating nanoparticles.Lots going on this month for the #internationaldayoflightNew mini-technology from our lab! @yugang.ren has built a tiny ion trap, to integrate nanoparticles into circuits, for sensing, signal processing (and who-knows maybe even quantum physics).Pretty happy about this new graffiti which has appeared near my house! @fatcapsprays
